  • Hormone: FSH / LH / PRL / 17 β Oestradiol and, possibly, anti-Mullerian hormone.
  • Immunological: HBsAg / HC Ab / RPR / HIV Ab

Gynaecological ultrasound scan

The best time to do the ultrasound is in the first few days of your new cycle after your period. This is when the ovarian follicular reserve can be assessed and any abnormalities in the anatomy of the womb or which might hinder embryo implantation can be ruled out. It also allows us to discount ovarian cysts or tumours as cause of your infertility.

Depending on the results of these basic tests, the specialist may want to investigate further with additional diagnostic tests.
